The #SabaiTop is knitted seamlessly top-down. Stitches are cast on for the boat neckline. After a setup round, increases are worked on both sides of the shoulder stitches to shape the shoulders.
Variant 1 – Ribbed neckline:
The boat neckline is worked in rib. The slanted increases are alternately worked as knit and purl stitches to integrate them into the rib pattern. The front and back are then worked separately in stockinette stitch with a narrow rib panel at the sides with double edge stitches, up to the armhole depth. Increases for the armhole curve are placed next to the rib panel. The front and back are then joined to work the body in the round. The rib pattern of the straps continues along the side seams. The bottom is finished with a ribbed hem.
Variant 2 – Stockinette:
The boat neckline and all increases are worked in stockinette stitch. The front and back are worked separately back and forth with double edge stitches at the sides until the armhole depth is reached. Increases for the armhole curve are worked one stitch from the edge stitches. The front and back are then joined, and the body is finished in stockinette stitch in the round.
