Description

The COSIMA VEST BY TANJA STEINBACH is knitted in two separate pieces. First, both front pieces and the wide shawl collar are knitted crosswise in one piece as ajour pattern stripes. Start at the bottom edge of the left front piece, followed by the shawl collar and the right front piece. The ajour pattern strip ends with the bottom edge of the right front piece. A warp edge is worked along the right edge and a flap edge is worked along the left edge as a front facing. The back piece is then knitted from the bottom up. As soon as the height of the armholes is reached, the increases for the overcut sleeves begin. Then sew the bind-off edge of the back piece to the center of the warp edge of the ajour pattern strip. Fold the outer tips of the back piece's binding edge over on both sides of the start of the armholes and pin in place. Then sew the remaining lengths of the ajour pattern strip to the lower straight knit edge of the back piece as side seams on both sides.
