The Alessandra Shirt is knitted in separate pieces from the bottom up.
First, the front and back pieces are worked straight up. The armhole height is marked on both sides of each piece. After sewing the shoulder seams, stitches are picked up for the sleeves: For the right sleeve, along the edge from the back piece over the shoulder seam to the front piece. The sleeve is worked back and forth; the left sleeve is done the same way in reverse.
Next, stitches are picked up along the neckline and a narrow band is knitted in the round. Finally, the side and sleeve seams are sewn together.
